PACKAGING

Designing packaging is one of our highlighted services and where we truly stand out as a design firm. We love testing, creating and executing well crafted packaging systems; it is one of the biggest driving forces in consumer purchasing and an area that we shine. We take your brand and translate the concepts into a packaging system that fits you businesses needs.

THE PROCESS

Like all of our desgin projects, we begin with research in order to glean insights and convert them into a design strategy.  The design strategy will map out the plan for achieving the visual goal of the packaging design. Once the packaging design strategy has been resolved we can begin with our deliverables:

01 | MOODBOARD

First up in our packaging design process, we’ll put together a moodboard to allow you, the client, to get a better vision of the desired outcome. The mood board is essentially a collage of images, text and textures that will help guide our design process.

02 | DESIGN

Now that we’ve set the tone with your moodboard, it’s time for us to get started on your package designs. We provide three full concepts with the objective of ensuring the final design communicates the intended deliverables.

Once these designs have been submitted the client will select their preferred concept, which will then go through a period of refinement of up to two rounds of revisions.

Finally, we implement the design with the dieline, which is the template for a package. It’s a flattened outline of the cutlines and folds.

03 | PRINT

Now we arrive at our final step, where the packaging design concept becomes a reality. This last step of our packaging design process involves taking our layouts from finished art to pre-press and digital ready states. This step requires a thorough understanding of printing and finishing processes to ensure the highest quality packaging product.

For the first printing at least, a proof check is usually suggested, which means we will visit the printer and approve the printing on press to ensure it meets specifications.
