Experiential Interior Design

Dispensaries and Consumption Lounges

Experiential design has become one of the most powerful ways cannabis brands can stand out and honestly, it’s where things start to get interesting. As the industry evolves, people aren’t just looking for product anymore. They’re looking for places that feel good to walk into, places they want to stay in, and spaces that feel more like culture and less like a transaction.

At Studio Linear, we don’t see dispensaries or consumption lounges as purely retail. We see them as lifestyle spaces. Hospitality-adjacent. Brand-driven. The physical space should feel like a natural extension of the brand itself, not a separate layer added at the end.

That’s why our work in cannabis is never just about interiors. It’s about building an entire brand world and letting the space bring it to life.

When we partnered with Mood Shine, a Chicago-based dispensary, the goal was simple: create a place people actually wanted to be in. Not sterile. Not intimidating. Not what you’d expect from a traditional dispensary.

Studio Linear led the creative across branding, visual identity, and merchandise, with the interior design flowing directly from that foundation. Every touchpoint was considered—from how the brand shows up on the shelves to how it feels when you step inside. The result is a space that feels modern, warm, and approachable, without losing its edge. Mood Shine doesn’t feel like a stop on an errand list. It feels like a destination.

We took a similar approach with a new consumption lounge in Big Sur, pushing the experience even further. Set in one of California’s most iconic landscapes, the space was designed to feel immersive, elevated, and completely connected to its surroundings.

The lounge features a dedicated dab bar, interactive lounge areas, and a full dining experience. Designing it meant thinking about how people move, gather, relax, and engage throughout the space. Rather than treating interior design as a standalone service, the physical environment became another expression of the brand—blending cannabis seamlessly with hospitality, food, and a strong sense of place.

For us, experiential design in cannabis isn’t about trends or novelty. It’s about legitimacy, comfort, and connection. When a space is thoughtfully designed, it helps normalize cannabis and invites people to engage with it in a way that feels familiar, elevated, and human.

That’s what we’re always aiming for at Studio Linear: spaces that tell a story, feel good to be in, and give brands room to grow. Whether it’s a dispensary, a consumption lounge, or something entirely new, we believe the experience should be just as intentional as the brand behind it.
