It Was Time For A Refresh

And It Only Took 2 Years To Complete....

You know that saying “A carpenter’s house is never finished", or “The cobbler’s children have no shoes". or “The baker never eats cake"...you get the idea. Well, for us here at Studio Linear, we decided a few years ago it was time for our own brand refresh but guess what? Just like the sayings, we could never find time to work on our own project. It would always take a backseat to our clients work. We would dive in, set aside, pick up a random night, spend weekends on it, trying to squeeze in any spare minute to look at where Studio Linear has been and where the next 10 years will take us. So what went into our rebrand besides lethal amounts of caffeine? Here is a peak behind the curtain.

We started by looking at where we had started roughly 15 years ago and how our own style had evolved. In those beginning years when you are so new and somewhat niave to running a business, we branded ourselves out of more necessity vs an approach we now take with our own clients which is to start with brand strategy. This meant looking at our current and future industries we planned on positioning ourselves in, looking at some of our competitors to see how we could stand apart also relied on our own personal style as that intuition in the design world is what has helped us grow over the years. Something we have heard over the years when we ask clients what brought them to reaching out to Studio Linear, is how different we are from other agencies. How bold our own branding is, how unique our projects are, this is what made them contact us so we wanted to push that with this new look. We went from our previous black & white color palette to a bold vibrant red & white. We intentially selected fonts that we weren't seeing overused and ones that we feel will be relevent for years to come. We added some fun elements to our rebrand such as the new "Eyes On You" watching your on our website, to the fun game in our footer. We wanted to create a new look for the agency that was 100% authentic to who we are at the core. We love to have fun and push boundaries in design.

After our strategy and development of our new logo, fonts and color system, founder Andrea Beaulieu then designed the new website using Adobe Photoshop, a tool she learned almost 30 years ago in high school! In 2019, she was invited to present at Adobe Live in San Fransisco, demonstrating her self-taught knowledge of the software. We selected Webflow as our platform for our custom website. Our very talented developer, Chase Jennings, was able to take the Photoshop designs and work his magic, coding the custom site we just launched. Keeping up our idea of fun, you may see Bob Ross or a disco ball fly through our site, or some unique hover effects on the homepage Dino walker. Today our site was featured on Site Of Sites which we are super proud of! 

With out new look, we are rolling out some custom social templates, new merch for ourselves and FINALLY gearing up to launch a new commerce feature to purchase branding kits called Brand Haus which should be launching this year! Until then, we plan on enjoying this new facelift for a bit and going back to what we love, focusing on our clients! xoxo Studio Linear
